I have lived in the Delta for the past 18 years. I moved here in 1990 from San Jose where I lived and operated a small construction business for 19 years. My children grew up here and got married and had kids of their own. My wife and I have been involved with the Relay for Life for the past 6 years and I have been a member of the local Lions Club since 1998.
In 2002 I closed my construction business and went to work for a real estate company in Rio Vista that sold primarily Trilogy homes. I was the first employee of the company and in the beginning I helped the broker build her business. We did everything ourselves in those days, I repaired the sign posts and built new ones as the business grew. We made our own flyers, installed and removed the signs and filled the flyer boxes and held open houses. It was a great experience. We met a lot of nice people and helped them purchase their new home. Many times we would due little repairs and help them move into the homes. It was enjoyable and rewarding. Soon the business grew and new agents joined us and I began to sell properties outside of Trilogy. I was helping first time home buyers purchase their first home and selling ranches and farms and occasionally I would sell a small business.
In 2007 I opened Howard Real Estate, kind of a scary time to be opening brokerage when others were leaving the business and the market was changing and becoming more challenging.
But here we are entering our third year, adding agents, helping people purchase bank owned properties and helping others get through a difficult time with short sales. We’re still selling ranches and farms and now we’ve added waterfront homes and property management.
Meeting and helping people with their financial and real estate needs is challenging and requires long hours and patience but it is well worth the effort.
